5-Amino-1MQ is not a peptide but a small quinolinium compound, supplied as the iodide salt (formula C10H11IN2). It inhibits nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), the enzyme that methylates nicotinamide, so in cell work it is used to study what happens when less nicotinamide is diverted away from NAD+ salvage.
